Gateway Mother's Day Out program

Luke started going on Tuesday February 16th, 2010. He will be going on Tuesdays and Thursdays. His friends Riley Jane and William also go. So my friend Becky and I get to hang out two mornings every week!

It's just wonderful! It's free and the nursery is awesome. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the teachers are very caring. We have to participate in one "group" each morning and then we are free until 1 p.m. when we have to go pick up the kids. We've been attending the group "reading and writing" at Barnes and Noble. Lovely!!! A cup of coffee in one hand, a book in the other, and an awesome friend sitting right next to you!!!! Life is good!

It's a nice break for mommy and Luke and it makes it extra special when we see each other at pick-up time!

Pictures to come...

Luke marche!

This morning, when we went to the pedi for Luke's 15-month check-up, he wasn't walking. The pedi held his hand to see if he would take a step or two and he didn't move. Of course, Luke already knew how to walk when holding on to objets, furniture, walls, etc.
This afternoon, he started walking, just like that, on his own! I couldn't believe it!!! When he falls he continues on by crawling and he doesn't walk all the time. But I suppose that he will walk more and more. Ah...my big boy :-)

Greatest Big Brother!

Luke will be a big brother around August 18th, 2010! We are so excited!

Thank you Lindsey for finding the perfect shirt for us!

Luke is 15 months old!

We had his check-up with the pediatrician resheduled to February 16th due to the snow we got on the 11th!
He weighs 25.5 lbs (60%) and measures 32 inches (74%). He received five shots today because they finally had the seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines in. I was afraid he would have a reaction to them but so far so good.

He wouldn't walk for the pedi but he started walking that afternoon!

He's fluent in gibberish but besides dada and mama doesn't really say much that we can recognize. I speak to him in French and of course he has plenty of exposure to the English language as well. I think it's mostly due to too much language input! When you think about it, he's probably exposed to twice the amount of vocabulary than a child who is only spoken to in one language. So it might take him a little bit longer but then he'll be fluent in two languages! How cool will that be?!

His favorite movie is "The Wiggles: nursery rhymes" He loves that thing and can let me know when he wants me to put it on! He also knows how to open the tray on the DVD player and can put the dvd in or take it out.

He still loves books!!! I think he likes his books more than his toys. He must get that from his daddy. Cody is an avid reader!

He is a very good eater. He loves fruits, vegetables, chicken, cheese, and there are very very few things he will not eat. He didn't like cherry tomatoes when he tried them.

His four molars are out.

He is a super sleeper lately. He's always been a good sleeper since birth but we did go through the night terrors and teething pain for a few weeks. He's now back to a 12+ hour night and it's just wonderful!

Oh le beau bonhomme de neige!

Luke's birthday video!

Yes, I know, he will be 15 months old tomorrow but I was FINALLY able to upload the video to youtube.

Luke's first sick visit to the pediatrician

Luke had tonsillitis and high fever for about five days. It was viral so we couldn't give him medicine. Motrin took care of the fever though. Here he was last Wed. after waking up with a fever of 104.9! I almost took him to the E.R. but with Motrin it dropped within 30 minutes.
He's now all back to normal and healthy!
